In my researches about how to get the perfect doll lashes, I found good reviews about It Cosmetics mascaras. So, I decided that it was time to get one and see if it’s really so good as they said. However, I couldn’t decide between the Superhero and Lash Blowout because the first one has been quite famous for a while and the second was the new launch of the brand in partnership with Drybar. Then, I bought both and decided to have my own It Cosmetics Mascaras Battle.
I used each mascara for an entire month, starting with the Lash Blowout, followed by Superhero. And now, at the end of it all, I used both at the same time (one in each eye) to make an even more realistic and detailed comparison between them. To get started, as usual, let’s see what the brand promises for each of them.
Lash Blowout is the first mascara developed in partnership with Drybar and brings the benefits of the best hair salon brush for eyelashes. Inspired by the technology used to create hairbrushes, the brush is specially designed with microspheres that capture all lashes, providing a beautiful separation, an instant lift and 19 times more volume.
Lash Blowout biotin-infused formula contains clear polymers that intensify the saturation of the super black pigment, providing bold lashes. The mascara also promises not to give that horrible effect of spider legs in your lashes and not crumble. Besides that, the formula is clinically tested, which reduces the risk of allergies.
The Superhero is a mascara developed “to give superhero power to your lashes.” The mascara leaves the lashes with super volume and super length with only one layer. Developed with the help of plastic surgeons, Superhero is also a treatment for eyelashes with an ultra-conditioning formula. “The Lash-Changing Power Brush work together to coat every lash from base to tips—lifting lashes while separating them to create a fuller lash line and ensure that no lash is left behind.”
The mascara also contains powerful collagen polymers, biotin, proteins and peptides. “The super-buildable formula literally takes your lashes to new heights and puts lash power at your fingertips; simply apply more coats for additional volume and length. You do IT all… now your mascara does, too!”
Now, what I think
Both Lash Blowout and Superhero Mascara are very black, which I love, and have the driest formula that I like too. At first, the Superhero formula looked a little bit too drier than the normal, as well as a little “crumbly.” So, I added a little of my MAC Fix + and turned it perfect. In the battle between the brushes, I really prefer the Lash Blowout brush, which is chubby in the way I like it.
Neither of the two mascaras is waterproof, but in terms of holding on longer without slipping and staining the Lash Blowout also won. I don’t even need to mention that Lash Blowout won as the best packaging too, right? Both Lash Blowout and Superhero are very comfortable and have no smell, which is perfect for me. Both mascaras add volume and length, but the Superhero volume is beautiful than Lash Blowout, but the Lash Blowout gives the best length.
In conclusion, both mascaras deliver what they promise. However, the Lash Blowout does a little more, since the Superhero lasts less and crumbles a little bit. That said, I need to confess that I loved both and they already went straight to the list of my darlings, with 4 and 4.5 stars for Superhero and Lash Blowout respectively.
